Beurre is a Swiss trio exploring experimental metal. The band includes Chadi Messmer (Closet Disco Queen...) on bass, Elischa Heller (Film 2, 222Rn) on vocals and synthesizers, and since 2023, Luc Hess (Coilguns, The Ocean) on drums.
Driven by a desire to channel the transformative force of harsh noise and overwhelming loudness, Beurre's brand of extreme metal takes the shape of mantras and meditations, and veers into the chaotic realms of weirdness and entropy. As ferocious and thunderous as these tracks may be in execution, they are underpinned by fragile threads of hope that weave through and illuminate the band's raw, immersive aura.
With just the energy and presence of the three of them on stage, this radical reduction to bass, drums and voice is conveyed to an absolute maximalism of distortion. Stomping and grounded, shaking and deliberate, they exhaust themselves through their set until the raw intensity of sound merges into a catalytic transcendence. Nothing remains unraveled in this stroboscopic hour of doom, and you may probably leave with a more precise skill of letting things and yourself go, after going through this cleansing ritual of contortion.
